Sheffield United could look to sell striker Tyrese Campbell in the January transfer window. The 26-year-old has been left out of the last two league squads, raising questions about his future role at Bramall Lane.
Campbell was omitted from the matchday groups for the recent Championship defeats to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Stoke City. He has made seven appearances this term, five in the league, without finding the net. His contract runs until the summer of 2028.
Manager Chris Wilder has other options in attack, with Patrick Bamford and Tom Cannon competing for the central striking position. Campbell was substituted after an hour in the Carabao Cup loss to Fleetwood Town earlier this month. He has scored 17 goals in 80 total appearances for the Blades since joining from Stoke City, where he netted 36 times in 164 games.
The team's recent form has been mixed, with three wins and two losses from their last five league outings. They followed a run of three consecutive victories with back-to-back defeats, the latest a 2-1 loss at Stoke where Kalvin Phillips gave United a second-half lead before late goals from Jack McGlynn and Sam Gallagher turned the game. That result leaves Sheffield United 18th in the Championship standings after eight fixtures.
Wilder's side now face a two-week break before returning to action at home to Lincoln City on 10 October. The forward had a previous loan spell at Shrewsbury Town earlier in his career.
